Christopher hirsch

GIS Analyst

Christopher Hirsch joined Energy Strategies in April 2023 as a GIS Analyst. As an analyst, he creates, manages, and utilizes geographical information systems and geospatial data to visualize and analyze various client requests. With his GIS skills, he provides clients with a detailed look into data trends through map visualizations, as well as geospatial analysis for spatial problems.

Before his career in GIS, Chris was a combat medic in the US Army for 4 years with 2 deployments to Afghanistan. After his service, Chris obtained a BS in Geospatial Sciences, which he now leverages to deliver high quality analyses and maps that help illustrate accurate and complex spatial data to clients. These maps are used to inform client decisions and give them a greater sense of locations to suit their specific needs. In addition to client relations, Chris manages Energy Strategies’ geospatial database and their ArcGIS Online web portal, as well as assisting the internal team members with mapping solutions.

Before joining Energy Strategies, Chris worked as a Utility Network GIS Consultant where he helped utility companies migrate their GIS data over to ESRI's Utility Network tool. Through this experience, Chris gained a deep understanding of how utility companies utilize geospatial information systems and how to properly display client needs spatially. He also worked at Maxar Technologies as an Imagery Analyst during his undergraduate studies. There, he provided high quality satellite imagery to Google Maps, Apple Maps, and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, and he provided disaster response imagery for their analysis.
