Our firm's Public Policy practice area enables clients to navigate the complex world of energy-related issues at the federal, state and local government levels. Our staff brings decades of advocacy experience in the public sector, having served in senior administrative and policy positions in government and the private sector. We have been advocates for large corporations, independent power producers, non-profit organizations and others.

We resolve issues with administrative, legislative and regulatory entities. We participate at the front end of the public policy decision-making processes in an open and honest manner. Our staff has successfully participated in programs ranging from the restructuring of multi-million dollar energy projects, to assisting energy project developers in acquiring permits and to participation in the formulation of RTO's.

Scott A. Gutting, Energy Strategies President, is on the Board of the Western Electricity Coordinating Council, the electric reliability council in the West representing over 180 members that also participates in national and regional policy formation.
